Self-Defense Training in Vancouver, WA
Practical self-defense in a private, supportive studio in downtown Vancouver.
Confidence that goes with you
Knowing how to protect yourself brings more than physical safety. It brings a calm, steady confidence that changes how you walk through a parking garage, down a downtown street, or through your day.
At TruFit Personal Fitness, self-defense training is offered primarily for women, in a private and supportive setting. Owner Ron Bryan brings more than 20 years of experience in fitness and movement to every session.
You don't need to be in shape or have any experience. Ron starts with the basics and builds your skills step by step.

What you'll learn
Self-defense is about more than techniques. Most of it happens before a situation ever gets physical.
1. Situational awareness. Noticing what's happening around you is often the best way to avoid conflict altogether. You'll learn what to look for and how to trust your instincts.
2. Space and timing. How to keep distance, read a situation, and choose the right moment to act or leave.
3. Practical techniques. Simple, effective ways to break free and protect yourself if a situation becomes physical, practiced in a safe, controlled setting.

Fitness and self-defense together
Self-defense works better when your body is strong and you move well. Your sessions combine practical skills with the strength, balance, and conditioning you need to use them.
Practicing in a safe space also builds the calm and assertiveness that can help you avoid trouble in the first place.
“Life constantly throws punches at you. By building strength, flexibility and balance, you'll have what it takes to bob and weave.” — Ron Bryan
